Ημερομηνία εργαστηρίου: Σάββατο 5 Σεπτεμβρίου 2020

Workshop III

Abstract

The body is seen as an intra and intersubjective space, where one can explore a language that is common, but might also appear foreign: movement. Movement allows us to come together and separate, it is a bridge between the individual and the grouped body.
Using this common language, the body speaks without using words, expresses the unspeakable, what we do not dare to say, or what we do not even know because it is still unconscious.

During the workshop we will explore the posture of our bodies (sitting, standing, in stillness, in movement), as well as the relationship with the individual and common space, using the term “koinos”, meaning the property of a group, that bonds, and adapts to many people (Tegopoulos-Fitrakis, 1995).
As the workshop title indicates, the common language will be movement and we will adapt the words to English and/or Spanish depending on the language requirements of the group.

Is it possible that being aware of our movement enriches the experience with and in the group? How do the individual and group bodies establish a kinesthetic relationship even online? And how do we use this communication?

Keywords: koinos, common language, movement, individual and grouped body.
